Accra Beach barbados

Sandy shores, turquoise waters, and vibrant beach life!

Our drone adventure takes flight over one of the south coast’s favourite spots – Accra Beach, also known as Rockley Beach. From above, the scene is picture-perfect: wide stretches of golden sand, clear turquoise waters, and a buzzing beach atmosphere that shows just how much this place is loved.

Down below, it’s all happening. Some people are strolling barefoot along the shore, others are stretched out soaking up the sun. Families splash about in the shallows, while couples lounge under umbrellas with cold drinks in hand. There’s an easy rhythm to life here that makes you want to dive right in.

At the eastern tip of the beach, a calm, shallow area protected by a breakwater is especially popular with families and little ones. Just a few steps away, the Tiki Bar serves up cocktails with unbeatable views, beach loungers, and a laid-back island vibe.

Perched on the clifftop is Champers, one of Barbados’ top restaurants where diners enjoy panormaic ocean views and fine cuisine. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a sea turtle swimming in the crystal-clear waters below.

As we pan westward, the coastline unfolds – waves roll in steadily, the bright yellow lifeguard hut adds a pop of colour, and the beach continues to buzz with energy. Teenagers kick around a football, families cool off in the sea, and couples walk hand in hand along the water’s edge.

One more spin of the drone gives us a full view of the beach in all its glory, backed by a string of hotels that make this a perfect base for visitors. The Accra Beach Hotel stands out – ideally located right on the sand, it’s the kind of place where you can step from your room straight onto the beach.

From offshore, the contrast of foamy white surf against those impossibly blue waters is breathtaking. And as the sun starts to dip low, the beach is bathed in a warm golden glow. Off in the distance, you can even spot the start of the South Coast Boardwalk – another local gem waiting to be explored.
