Speightstown Coastline barbados
Soar above clear waters, jetties, beaches, and the boardwalk of this colonial-era coastal town.
Taking flight from the northern side of Speightstown, our drone carries us out over crystal-clear waters where elegant yachts and catamarans float quietly.
Heading slightly south, we soar above the Speightstown Jetty for a spectacular view of the popular Fisherman’s Pub restaurant (a favorite spot for locals and visitors) and its inviting adjoining beach.
We follow a jetskier racing across the waves below, heading back north to discover another beautiful bay dotted with marinas and moored boats.
After a short flight over shallow coral reefs shimmering beneath us, we arrive at Heywoods Beach, where beachgoers are lingering on the soft shores and the jetty, soaking up the warm Caribbean sunshine.
Circling back south to Speightstown, the charming boardwalk unfolds below, winding its way through this historic town. In colonial times, Speightstown was a bustling commercial hub, connected to the capital city of Bridgetown by regular schooner service. Today, it’s home to beachfront and oceanfront restaurants, unique shops, luxury apartments, and the fascinating Arlington House Museum.
With a gentle turn inland, the historic St. Peter’s Parish Church comes into view, a beautiful landmark steeped in island heritage.
Our final drone spin captures a stunning array of blues and turquoises where sea meets sky… a fittingly beautiful farewell to our brief visit to Speightstown.
