Brighton Beach & Beyond: A West Coast Trio of Tranquility
Crystal-clear turquoise waters shimmer below, gently lapping onto the golden sands of Brighton Beach.
As we drift inland, manicured lawns come into view, leading up to beautiful beachfront homes, some of which welcome visitors looking for their perfect island getaway.
Brighton Beach is blissfully uncrowded. While some locals enjoy weekend visits, it’s mostly a peaceful retreat for homeowners, their guests, and patrons of the beachfront Stades Rum Beach Club.
Gliding south along the coastline, we’re treated to a stunning palette of blues, from the multi-shaded waters below to the brilliant azure sky above on this typically gorgeous Barbados day.
Small fishing boats bob lazily in Pile Bay, while in the distance a cruise ship sits docked at Bridgetown Port, surrounded by several anchored vessels dotting the harbor.
Neighboring Brandons Beach stretches out before us, a popular haven for cruise passengers who come ashore to soak up the sun and splash around at the fun waterpark just offshore.
Heading over to Freshwater Bay, just north of Brighton Beach, the tranquil atmosphere continues. A handful of lucky beachgoers are enjoying the calm seas and soft sands as we soar overhead. Through the crystal-clear water, you can spot the coral reefs below as vibrant underwater communities teeming with tropical fish and marine life.
