Sunrise at St. John's Church barbados

We take flight at sunrise from the grounds of historic St. John’s Parish Church, with its elevated position on the east coast of the island. The sun breaks through the clouds, holding the promise of a wonderful day ahead.

Flying over the church and burial grounds we appreciate the Gothic architecture of this country church which dates back to 1836. The church is surrounded by lovely large mahogany trees, and its elevated location provides stunning views of the eastern coastline and countryside. Little wonder that this is a popular stop for tour buses showing visitors the island.

We then switch over to nearby Codrington College, another impressive example of historic architecture. Our drone pilot takes us through magnificent stone arches and rising alongside majestic palms that line the long driveway.

Returning to the realities of modern life we hover over a busy roundabout but quickly return to a tranquil scene… on the clear tranquil waters on Barbados’ west coast as catamarans sail languidly under a sunlit sky.
